In the semi-final of the Coupe de France, Olympique de Lyon lost the confrontation against FC Nantes of two Indomitable Lions. It is an understatement to say, as Cameroonians, that joy is satisfying. A club that flouted the Cameroonian international Toko Ekambi released from the Coupe de France by two Cameroonians, Castelletto and Ganago, is strong.
It was an opposition between two clubs which are not doing well in the league. With a surreal workforce, Olympique de Lyon is in the soft underbelly of Ligue 1 and may not play European competitions. Lyon therefore hoped to salvage their season with the possibility of winning the Cup. With their defeat in the last match, FC Nantes saw their pursuers get closer to their 14th place. We will therefore have to fight to stay in the League
In the end, it will be Nantes who have offered themselves the right to defend their title at the Stade de France on April 29. Castelletto and Ganago performed superbly during the entire game. Lyon therefore remains stuck in a completely failed season.
The Beaujoire club could certainly have gotten the game going faster. From the first minute, Castelletto finds himself in front of the goalkeeper and strikes with all his might. It will be pushed by Lopes. There was also this shot from Moutoussamy which grazed the post (79th). His goal had also been refused for offside (31st).
Nantes did not have much to worry about, the only one being this shot from Barcola (86th) blocked by Lafont. It was the talent of Ludovic Blas who finally settled the match and offered Nantes a second consecutive final. His goal, the only one of the game, is simply magnificent. On a pass from Centonze, after a counter-attack where he deceived the opposition defender, Blas will cushion with the chest, immediately followed by a control of the shoulder. When receiving the ball, he had his back towards the goals. He uses shoulder control to adjust and position his lead foot wonderfully. His powerful shot from the left pinned the OL goalkeeper to the spot. (1-0, 57th).
Lyon never put themselves in a position for come back. The determination of Castelletto and Pallois, the two centrals defenders, the tenacity of the attackers who did not give up made them see off the game. Lyon, who once again lost, will not win any trophies this season.
