The first batch of Nigerians fleeing from the ongoing war in Ukraine today at 7:10 am arrived at the Nnamndi Azikiwe International airport Abuja.
According to reports on Twitter by linda Ikeji and on her log, about 450 Nigerians mostly made up if students were today received by top government officials in Abuja.
The war in Ukraine has led to widespread racist expressions along the border between Ukraine and other countries. Blacks are reported to be refused passage through the borders and instead Ukrainians are given a pride of place first before other none European nationals.
Nigeria was among the first country in Africa to make statements on the situation of her students and other nationals to return home. Arrangements had been made and today their efforts are bearing fruits.
