The Minister of Youth and Civic Education (MINJEC) MOUNOUNA FOUTSOU attended this Monday, August 30, the launch of the operation “Back to School and University Citizens and Patriotic 2021 in Ombessa in the Center region.
Among others issues, the presentation of the context of the operation “Back to School and University Citizens and Patriotic 2021,” as well as national symbols and emblems were discussed by the Director of Civic Education and National Integration, Maha Hadja.
Maha Hadja notably underlined that this operation falls within the framework of the continuation of the intensification of the National Campaign of Civic Education and National Integration. It takes place in a context marked by the still threatening presence of Covid-19, in particular the delta variant, the security crisis in the North-West and South-West regions, the depravity of mores in schools, violence and drug use always in school or even the attack on moral and civic values.
This operation launched, will take place throughout the national territory under the leadership of the District Committees of Civic Education and National Integration (CAECIN), the technical coordination of the Delegates of the District of Youth and of Civic Education (DAJEC), in collaboration with the heads of schools and universities, the managers of vocational training structures through deployment in the field, of the Mobile Urban Popular Animation Teams and Rural (EMAPUR) assisted in this by the Community Mediators.
“On this solemn occasion, I would first like to thank the Governor of the Centre Region as well as all his collaborators, for all the useful measures they have been kind enough to take, to ensure the success of this important activity.
Allow me to express my sincere gratitude to all the high personalities, local elected officials, officials of various administrations and authorities present here, who have agreed to sacrifice their precious time and their important occupations to honor by their presence effective this double ceremony. This reflects, without a doubt, the interest you have in the supervision and training of young people, heirs and guarantors of the future of Cameroon, especially in this delicate period of the start of a new school year. ” . Signified the Minister during his opening remarks.
The objective of the operation “Back to School and University Citizens and Patriotic 2021” is therefore to inform, sensitize and train the entire educational community in civic values, patriotism, integrity in their behavior, peace and living harmoniously throughout the school year.
National Flags, Symbols and Emblems were handed over to the authorities of the Mbam and Inoubou and Mbam and Kim division, as well as a symbolic delivery of awareness kits to DAJECs for ECIN clubs, community mediators and EMAPURs.
“As you can imagine, the theoretical anchoring of this Operation in this Campaign currently being implemented finds its justification in the socio-political context of the hour marked in particular by major situations on which we insisted during the launch. official of this operation, namely: the persistence of insecurity at the borders through the attacks of the terrorist sect BOKO HARAM in the Far North Region; threats to peace, unity and social cohesion orchestrated by supporters of the destabilization and division of our country Cameroon; a real crisis of social values, identity folds, intolerances of all kinds, outrage and disrespect for the values, symbols and emblems of our Republic; proliferation, the trafficking and commercialization of various drugs within the youth and their consumption in clear increase among this frank of the Cameroonian population that constitutes the youth, without forgetting the libertarian and illegal environment in which the young and less young indulge themselves.
It should also and above all be pointed out that the start of the 2021-2022 school year comes in a context marked by the presence still threatening, because not yet controlled and even less eradicated of the Covid-19, despite the incessant call of the powers public to mass vaccination. Also, we will take the opportunity offered by this forum to invite young and old populations to continue to observe the barrier measures enacted in response to this global pandemic.
The list of attitudes to be hated at the start of this new school year could not be closed without our noting the sectarian practices and other beliefs developed by lazy and weak minds who abhor the cult of effort and who lead some people. young people in lazy attitudes in search of easy gain and fraudulent enrichment through what they call the “magic purse”.
We will also point out the increase in violence in school premises which leads to assassinations and murders, and many cases of this highly reprehensible violence are the consequence of the ever increasing consumption of drugs and other psychotropic substances in schools.
Efforts must be made in families as well as in places of worship, and all other places of socialization of our young people so that the trade, possession and consumption of these substances which destroy our young people are effectively combated. The said operation will take place in accordance with the recommendations of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, on the occasion of the launch of the National Campaign for Civic Education and National Integration on September 29, 2015 when he declared: “this Campaign must be registered. over time, namely as part of a process involving various actors and partners, or even the entire national community. » , Said the Minister.
